  • ½ head cauliflower chopped into bite-size florets
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ cup BBQ sauce
  • 2 tbsp teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tbsp tamari sauce or sub soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 sliced onions


  • Add cauliflower florets to a mixing bowl and add garlic, 2 smoked paprika, salt, pepper, BBQ sauce, teriyaki, tamari, and olive oil. Toss to combine and set aside.
  • Sauté onions until caramelized.
  • Cook the cauliflower in a pan for 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • Transfer the cauliflower to a baking sheet and bake 400º F for about 10 minutes.
  • Assemble the sandwich using any bread (we used ciabatta) with a generous portion of BBQ cauliflower, caramelized onions, pickled vegetables (we used shredded red cabbage and carrots).
