  • 4 cups of bread flour
  • 2 ½ tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 ⅓ cups warm water
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup

  • Add the water to a bowl. Then add the yeast and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • In another bowl, mix the salt and flour.
  • Add the flour to the yeast mixture.
  • Stir the dough to combine and knead with your hands for about 10 minutes.
  • Cover the bowl for 45 minutes until it doubles in size.
  • Divide the dough into 8 pieces and shape them into round balls.
  • Allow them to rest covered for 5-10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 428°F.
  • Press a hole through the center of each dough (about 1.5 inches).
  • Place bagels in boiling water for under a minute (flip them halfway through).
  • Place the bagels on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and add the seasoning.
  • Bake for 22-24 minutes. Allow them to cool completely before serving.
