Hello! I'm Sanaz. I am a proud mother of a son and daughter.I am grateful that you are here; this is our story. It was a couple of weeks when my son stopped eating red meat at 14. When I asked him why, he simply said it's not good for our health. I started researching, and as a family, we watched documentaries, including "What the Health" and "Forks Over Knives." One evening, after watching "Forks Over Knives" and seeing the cruelty towards animals and the many diseases associated with a carnivorous diet, we looked at each other silently. I will never forget that moment. The next day, we made the decision to stop consuming all animal products. We switched to a plant-based diet by preparing our usual meals without animal ingredients. After endlessly searching and cooking, we were so eager to reach other people who wanted to learn to eat plant-based, and we decided to share our recipes on Instagram to inspire others to improve their health. My 10-year-old daughter started creating plant-based recipes, and my son, a filmmaker and photographer, started making recipe videos and taught me everything about creating videos for social media and photography for our website. My husband, who was 55 then, began reducing his consumption of animal products. While he still eats some animal products, he has been supportive of our food choices from the beginning.
I have been cooking since I was a young girl, and I learned so much from my wonderful mom, who is an excellent cook. She would develop recipes without bothering to measure ingredients because she was a master improviser of recipes. I continued researching plant-based nutrition and chronic disease and obtained my Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies by eCornell. Learning about plant-based eating has been the most eye-opening experience of my life. It has been an incredible journey that I have shared with my children. I am always grateful to my son for his courage in starting this journey, my daughter for her courage in coming on this journey and developing recipes, and my husband for supporting our journey. We understand that you may not be ready to change your food habits entirely, and we do not expect that from anyone. No matter where you are in your food journey, we are here for you, welcome you with open arms, and support you.
